Kruger National Park extracts from the warden’s report for 1933

Note
Location South Africa Subject Distribution Species Black Rhino (bicornis)

Native rangers of No. 3 Section report that they saw a male, female and young one of black rhino on the Lower Sabi road during winter. Several tourists also, as last year, said they had seen `small elephant' in the thick bush there, which points to rhino. The tendency of the animals would be to come to the river and drink during the night and retire into the thick Matamiri thorn bush by day.
