Circle G has been purchased by the Government from Mr & Mrs Burke for resettlement under the Land Acquisition Act. This is a 17,500 acre farm in the Midlands, which has been used for cattle ranching integrated with wildlife. There are usually at least 14 black rhino on the farm, moving between Chinyika and Moreena. The Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy has been in correspondence with the government to ascertain the future plans. We have now submitted alternative proposals to ensure that Circle G remains within the Midlands Conservancy.

We had a full-sized model of a black rhino in our garden for a few weeks, used for fund raising and owned by Janet and Spencer Gelsthorpe, of Project Rhino. He came from Woburn Safari Park, moved on to Peterborough for the gala of 'Friends of Kwe Kwe', then to Anglia Water in Norfolk, before returning home to Guernsey.
