Originally from Natal ‘George’ and ‘Maude’ arrived at Busch Gardens in October 1965. Maude passed away in June of 1989 and George was transferred to the International Wildlife Park, Grand Prairie, Texas in August of 1991. In December of 1991 flooding from the Trinity River covered the entire park and forced the closure of this Texas drive-thru facility.
