White Rhino (simum)
No definite information of existing white rhino numbers, but reliable observers report a noticeable increase over 1935. Young were found to be unusually numerous in the Rigbo region of the West Nile District during 1936. Arrangements are being made in West Nile and West Madi to set aside as sanctuaries certain areas which are being converted into forest reserves.

The Assistant District Commissioner of Madi reports that the white rhino continues to be numerous in all except the more hilly parts.
