Abstract: The article speaks about Sudan, the last masculine Ceratotherium simum cottoni (Lydekker, 1908) (northern “white rhino”), 40 years old, 2 tons, living in the Ol Pejeta Reserve (west of Nanyuki, between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenia, Central Kenia), protected 24 h/24 by four armed rangers.
Presently, only four other female "northern rhinos" are attested on our Planet: two of them in the same reserve, two other ones live in two different zoos, in Czech Republic and in California.
The present article has kindly been provided by Mrs Gloria Ambrogio, Rome.
