This book is dated 1708 in most cases. Ot also appears with date 1729 which may be a new or modified edition. The plates are usually found separately.

The rhinoceros appears in two of the engraved plates. The rhinoceros is modelled by the engraver Jan Luyken after the woodcut of Albrecht Dürer (or a derivative).
