The female Katharina gave birth on 24 Dec 1956 and is very tame. We have six times taken samples of 50 to 80 ccm of milk, by milking her, and these samples were analyzed in different laboratories. The first sample of 9 Feb 1957 gave: Specific weight at 15?: 1.0296 Fat 0.3 g/ 100g pH 2.8 The sample taken on 20 Feb 1957 gave following results Bacteriological examination 'Keimgehalt' per 1 ccm 166000 Bacteria of the Coli-Aerogenes group negative Chemical examiniation Dry matter 9.50 % Fat 0.27 % Asche 0.37 % Another sample taken on 4 March 1957 Total eiweiss 3.48 % Milk sugar 7.20 % A further sample of 19 March 1957: Specific weight 1.038 Total eiweiss 3.37 % Casein 1.58 % Albumin and Globulin 1.58 % Rest Nitrogen 0.036 % Samples were taken at the end of October at the end of the normal lactation period. The following were the results: Dry matter 9.84 % Total eiweiss 3.20 % Casein 1.56 % Albumin and Globulin 1.43 % Milk sugar 3.60 % Fat 0.29 % Raw Asche 0.37 % Water 90.16 % Ca 0.530 g/kg Mg 0.130 g/kg P 0.310 g.kg On the day of the above sample, the calf was taken away and milk had still collected itself after a few days. Three days later a last sample was taken: Dry matter 8.53 % Total eiweiss 1.63 % Clean eiweiss 1.57 % Casein 1.17 % Water 91.47 % Albumin and Globulin 0.43 % Milk sugar 4.30 % Fat 0.005 % Raw Asche 0.38 % End
