Animal caught by Carl Georg Schillings (1865-1921). Schillings' fourth Africa journey, arrived 14.2.1903 in Tanga, Tanzania. A young black rhino was caught on 12 Sep 1903. The zoo pays 21.500 Goldmark for the rhinoceros.

Animal caught by Carl Georg Schillings (1865-1921). Schillings' fourth Africa journey, arrived 14.2.1903 in Tanga, Tanzania. A young black rhino was caught on 12 Sep 1903. He caught another two young rhinos in the following days, but these died after a few weeks. On 11 Dec 1903 the expedition returns to Tanga. The animals arrived in Berlin on 29 Jan 1904. The zoo pays 21.500 Goldmark for the rhinoceros. The animal became known as Fatima, she died on 25 Apr 1908. Another black rhino came to the zoo in 24 May 1907 from Abyssinia.
