In the “Studiolo del Duca Vespasiano Gonzaga Colonna” or “Camera di Enea” (Study of the Duke Vespasiano Gonzaga Colonna or Chamber of Enea), one of the most beautiful rooms in the Palazzo Giardino at Sabbioneta (Mantova), Bernardino Campi (1520-1595) frescoed exotic animals. Besides them, also the rhino (between 1582 and 1584) in the illustration.
Bernardino Campi is one of the most characteristic exponents of Mannerism in northern Italy.
