Exhibition Companion sculptures
Utrecht University, Utrecht
This sculpture is Piet van de Kar’s most exhibited work. It is based on a classic theme in sculpture: the torso, a body. Pink is the colour of flesh and is close to human beings. The sculpture seeks the primal force, which is depicted in opposites. The material looks like stone, but is light. The shape is powerful and shows the energy of the animal. The pink colour is fragile, creating confusion with the powerful and rough form.
Material: pu foam, plaster, pigment, paint, steel
Size: 288 x 210 x 128 cm
