Parsons 1760 French plate 1 supplement

1658913789

Plate I (supplementary) or I* illustrating the paper by James Parsons of the male rhinoceros seen in London in 1739. This plate appeared with the French translation in the Transactions Philosophiques, probably published in 1760 (with papers from the 1743 english edition).
This plate has inscriptions: (top right) Transact. Philos. No. 470. Pl. I. (lower right) An. 1743 et 1744. K.
This plate is absent from the original 1743 paper. The description of this plate (p.242) gives it the same title as plate I. There is no indication of artist or why it was inserted here.
