This wild caught bull rhino named ‘Xiangka’ was gifted to the Chinese people by King Mahendra of Nepal. Xiangka arrived at the Beijing Zoo in July of 1959 and was estimated to be one year old at that time. Xiangka died in November of 1978 due to chronic gastritis caused by a gastric ulcer.
