Black rhinoceros female “Gertie” who lived in Amboseli National Park in South Kenya. She had a peculiarly formed front horn, which made her a great success with all visitors to tghe park. This picture was taken before her horn broke off. Published in a contribution by George and Jinx Rodger, Where elephants have right of way, National Geographic 118 (3), September 1960, p.370.
