In 1620, Dürer’s woodblock (originally made in 1515) found its way into the hands of the Amsterdam publisher Willem Janzoon Blaeu (1571-1638), who added a second color block partly to give the image volume, but also to cover a horizontal crack in the key or black line block. Other colors like light blue and brown are also known to exist.
