Printed by the firm of Rose-Joseph Lemercier (1803-1887) and Jean François Bénard (b.1796) in Paris. While set in Chandernagore on the Hooghly, the rhinoceros is unknown in that locality, and the animal depicted is unlike the species found in the nearby Sundarbans.
