p.94 note
“Young Indian Rhinoceros” by Robert Home, watercolour on paper, dimensions unavailable, inscribed “From the life by Singhy Hey (deleted) Mr Home (over) 1799. The animal about 9 months old.” The inscription is by John Fleming who frequently added notes to the finished drawings. This example is particularly interesting as it shows the nature of Fleming’s patronage. The Fleming albums include at least six studies by Home. Victoria Memorial Hall, Fleming Collection (R2609/53).
