The fauna of Jubaland

Note
Location Somalia Subject Distribution Species Black Rhino (bicornis)

Lower Juba area, which was the administrative district of Kismayu under recent British occupation. It extends from Ghesgud to Dujuma on the left bank of the Juma River [southern Somalia, against Kenya border] Diceros bicornis, many unconfirmed reports, but there is no doubt that there are rhino in the districts in the areas of Malkagira and Dsheik Uama. They live in dense bush and not necessarily near water, so that even the nomads seldom see them.
