Black Rhino (bicornis)
In 1963, the Samburu County Council, thanks to a generous donation from Captain Sorsbie, agreed to double the size of the Samburu Reserve as from 1 Jan 1964. The County Council of Isiolo on 11 Nov 1963 also decided to add 250 km? which fronted the south bank of the Uaso Nyiro. There are black rhinoceros in the reserve.
