J.C. Hazewinkel, maybe Joachim Cornelis [or Cornelius] Hazewinkel. In some newspapers he is stated to have been a planter near Palembang, Sumata, maybe until late 1940s. In 1933 he presented a young elephant and some monkeys to the zoo in Jakarta. He gave some lectures about Sumatran wildlife and original inhabitants, often illustrated by slides. He is mentioned to be known for his photo and film work, especially for Sumatra. All newspaper cuttings found for him relate to the 1930s.
In 1926 a J.C. Hazewinkel was releived from his duties as 1st Lieutenant. This man was engaged to H. Brans of Weltevreden on 10-05-1924.
