HAVELBERG, GERMANY

Story about a woman, living at the foot of a mountain near Havelberg, who was in 6th week of pregnancy, without knowing this. Together with many other people, she went to see the Nashorn which was then present in Havelberg. The rhino had made a movement which led to her hat and shawl falling down. She delivered on 5 December 1746, a female child who lived for 3 days. The baby was grossly deformed with her head looking like rhino skin.

Note: From 6 weeks pregnancy to delivery of 5 December 1746, means that the rhino was seen 7 ½ months earlier, i.e in mid-April in Havelberg.
