The white rhino (Ceratotherium simun simum) from the National Zoological Park (NZP) is nowaday conformed by a group of 10 individuals and other fours in local Zoologic Parks, forming a metapopulation (MTP) where it can take place the procces of genetic drift with heterocigocity lost and consanguinious mating. In this paper are compared the indexs NelN.100 (relative effective population size), f (heterocigocity lost by generation) and frecuencies of potencial consanguinious mating in the population of NZP and in MTP. The relative effective population size was increaced at the bigining in both group, but it decline in the NZP. The biggest frecuencie of consanguinious mating ocurred in the MZP. These results are discussed in relation to the management of populations.
