Greater One-horned Rhino (unicornis)
About 100 rhinos in Kaziranga.
Floods heavy in July 1938. This rhino swam on 25 July 1938 to Mikir Hills [area south of the park] and stayed there. Rhino caught near Sildubi. Rhino caught in a pit on 19 October 1938. Animal wounded by the fall. It left on a train to Calcutta on 2 Nov 1938.
