No rhinoceros of either species exist today in Senanga [Zambia] as far as is known, but, according to the Chief de Poste at Luiana, both are reputedly present in Angola across the Mashi river. (D.C. Senanga, unpublished notes on game in the Senanga district).

In Kasempa, rhino continue to do well, though still not in great numbers. They also exist further South, in the Mumbwa sector of the park, and at least in one place in the Namwala portion.
1954, The Fauna Conservation Ordinance (1954) replaced the former one. Rhino is now completely protected.
There are a few rhino left in the Luano Valley.
In the Gwembe part of the Zambesi valley, rhino are but a remnant, while 1 or 2 survive. The Kariba Gorge was once a well-known rhino locality.
