I have not found the animal itself, but could be convinced of its exitsence by studying a pair of nice horns which originated from Lourenzo Marques.

I have returned with two skulls and horns, which allow a comparision with those from the Cape. The animal lives in Mossambique south of the 17th degree south latitude.

I saw a pair of horns from Lourenzo Marques, of which the anterior was 5 ft 3 inch (english measure) and the posterior one 1 ft 1 inch.

I compared two skulls brought home from Mozambique with a skulls recieved from Krebs from the Cape. They were similar.

Mozambique. I killed 2 females and a male. The male differed from the females by having longer horns and a more prehensile snout, which makes me think that the Rhinoceros keitloa of Smith is not a specific characteristic, but only sexullay differenbt from Rh. bicornis. The first figure of this type by Camper was already a form between the R. keitloa and R. bicornis of Smith.
