Massive re-stocking operation in South Africa

The WWF International `Save the Rhino' campaign was launched in South Africa on 5 June 1980 with the release of ten white rhino in Pilanesberg GR. This was one of the first major steps in `Operation Genesis' involving resettlement of 4000 animals including 80 white rhino from Natal.
