1962, October - 6 male and 2 female Diceros bicornis from Kariba were released in the Mandavu Area of the Park
Mitchell saw 2 black rhino at Manzimbomvu Pan on 27 May 1970.
1974, survey by Wilson - only five times black rhino seen. One was at Mtoa Ruins, a second at Deteema, a large adult cow at Tshompani Dam, a subadult at Dolilo and a pair in the mopane near Dandari

Between 13 Nov 1966 and 12 March 1967, 16 males and 19 females (total 35) were received from Umfolozi. First held in holding pens 24 miles SE of Main Camp and then release between 7 December and 21 April 1967.
Wankie NP, Zimbabwe. In the Linkwasha vlei the rhino was recorded feeding on Cynodon dactylon, Aristida sp., Eragrostis pallens, Heteropogon contortus and Panicum maximum. Also records of feeding on Echinochloa stagnina, Panicum repens, Urochloa rhodesiensis and Setaria anceps.

In June 1970, 12 were seen together, and over a distance of 4 miles a total of 17 were seen in the same day. On being disturbed the group of 12 split into 3 separate parties of 3, 5 and 4 animals.
A male and female were seen wallowing in the mud.

Wankie NP, Zimbabwe. Small calves, judged to be less than 2 months old, were seen on 9 August, 10 March and 15 July.
