The cage of the rhinoceros. Towards the oriental extremity of this group, Francis Garnier, following Lagr?e, recorded a small ruin which excaped our attention. Both authors say the following: ?About 2 km from the village of Preah Dak, following the modern route eastwards, we find a rather strange construction which the locals call Cage of the Rhinoceros. It is a rectangular moat of 40 by 20 metres, with stone sides. A kind of walkway, lower than the holding wall, transverses this compund along the smaller dimension. It is cut in the middle. On one side of the moat there is a staircase which allows one to go down into it.' As we have not seen this moat, as we never heard about it when we were in the area, we just wanted to draw attention to it.
