A very significant paper which reviews the occurrence, structure, stratigraphy
and development of the principal deposits of Dniester, Dnieper, Don and Volga. Among many other mollusk and mammalian species, the following rhinoceros taxa are also cited: Dicerorhinus megarhinus de Christol, Dicerorhinus etruscus (Falconer), Elasmotherium caucasicum Borrissiak, Coelodonta antiquitatis Blumenbach.
