situation during Japanese invasion, second WW. Visit in September 1942 - When I made a trip alone, I saw three different rhinos and four were heard at close range, and furthermore some dung was found. Visit in January 1943, my impressions were favbourable. We saw fresh tracks of rhino, also an adult female with calf. Until April 1944, regular monthly reports of game seen were received. From early July to early August 1943, rhino were seen 10 times; Sept/October 11 times; October/November 15 times, which were 8 solitary animals, two times 2 together and once 3 together. On 29 October 1943 a dead rhino was found at Legon Penjou, near the coast, the reason of death is unknown.
