Historical chronicle: hurricaine in the Bay of bengal on 30 september 1738

Historical chronicle. On September 30 last [1737] happened a furious hurricaine in the Bay of Bengal, attended with a very heavy rain, which raised 15 inches of water in 5 hours, and a violent earthquake, which threw down abundance of houses. A prodigious number of cattle of all sorts, a great many tygers, and several rhinoceroses were drowned.
