[ca. 1890] The owner of the Satpukur Garden then was Syam Mullick. There was a rhinoceros in the garden, its abode was girt round with a wall breast-high. There was a small pool in the centre. As we got near the wall the rhinoceros would come up to us and eat the grass we held before it.
