The Parks, Game and Fish Preservation Board of Natal is fitting two animals with miniature radio transmitters. A hole is drilled in the posterior horn of a drugged rhino prior to insertion of the transmitter. Signals can be picked up at a range of 2 km. The transmitter's aerial is accommodated in a groove which had to be made around the horn.
