This note, communicated by George Robert Waterhouse (1810-188) dated 19 August 1837, was entirely based on observations by Andrew Smith. It describes and illustrates Manticora latipennis, discovered near Kurrichane. This name for the beetle in the Carabidae is still recognized as Manticora latipennis Waterhouse, 1837.
