In the `North Borneo Herald' there was a short note recently about hunting in North Borneo and among the animals present there, the author also mentioned the elephant and rhinoceros. If this report is accurate, this would end the uncertainty about the presence of those species in the north of Borneo. Especially Dr Mohnike in his work `Blicke auf das Pflanzen und Thierleben' (p.420, 425) tried to argue that there are reservations about the presence of these animals.
