The original Dutch edition of this important work on the Javan Rhinoceros was published in 1941 in Buitenzorg (Bogor).
When the Japanese invaded Indonesia, most of the stock was destroyed.
Very few copies are still known. A few have come on the market when the naturalists working in Indonesia at the time have died.
One copy is in the Artis Library (University of Amsterdam)
These scans are taken from the personal copy of RRC editor Kees Rookmaaker - which was donated to him by H.G. Klös in Berlin.
The book is not too valuable, but it is pivotal for any study on the Javan Rhinoceros as the author was able to access a lot of older literature which is nowadays widely dispersed (but the RRC can help now).
There is a German translation 1959 by Erna Mohr. No English translation ever appeared.
