Gauhati, Assam, 1995. June 1993, female Geeta was allowed to enter the enclosure of Ram Prasad. Copulation took place shortly after release, it lasted 52 minutes with 52 thrusts. Not succesful. Nov 1993, female again went to male. At 3.35 pm, copulation took place and lasted for 65 minutes with 56 thrusts. Succesful.

Gauhati, Assam, 1995. Soon after parturition, the mother showed considerable interest in maternal care. As the calf could not stand and walk properly, mother tried to make her calf stand by tucking its forehead below her forelegs.

Gauhati, Assam, 1995. [After first unsuccesful mating, June 1993] Three days later, male became very aggressive, attacked female and injured her. Both were separated immediately. [Second Mating, Nov 1995] Following mating, female rushed to the waterhole and wallowed for almost an hour. Seven days later they were separated.
