[2] In 1907, a game sanctuary with an area of 25,700 acres was formed at Laokhowa with the object of preserving big game which was getting scarcer every year. The reserve is entirely closed for shooting and hunting. There are about a dozen rhinoceros and also many other kinds of big game in the reserve.
