It is believed that two or three are still to be found in the swampy lands of southern Perak. There is no certainty, however, about this. An old native hunter with whom i discussed the matter informed me that he had lately heard of one, but was inclined to doubt the truth of the report. From enquiries I made elsewhere, i was led to belief that any attempt at capture would be costly, long, and in all probability, futile.
