This unicorn painting (137 X 136.5 cm) is part of a series of animal paintings in the Staatlches Museum Güstrow (near Schwerin) in Germany. Marten de Vos (1532-1603) made an effort to show that the unicorn was not just a horse’s body with a horn, but a special creature with unique tail and feet.
