1309967867

This rhino arrived in France in 1770, fourteen years after Clara died. Louis XV kept this male rhino in his private menagerie. It died in 1793 from neglect during the Fr. revolution. This print, one of two known representations, was made posthumously by G.L.C.F.D. Cuvier in 1804.
