A palaeoreconstruction of the Pirro Nord (Foggia, Apulia, S-Italy) Early Pleistocene site. Stephanorhinus hundsheimensis Toula is present here together with some other typical members of the Pirro Nord Faunal Unit (late Villafranchian): two hominids (very close to Homo georgicus from Dmanisi) carrying a Capreolus sp. carcass, some arcaic horses (the Italian first appearance of Equus altidens) and some elephants (Mammuthus meridionalis) by the Italian expert Gianfranco Mensi.
