This engraving of Adam in the Garden of Eden is by Cesare Bassano (1584-1648) after one of 42 drawings by Carlo Procaccini illustrating Giovan Battista Andreini’s (1578-1650), l’Adamo, first published in 1613 and reedited in 1617, Milano: Geronimo Bordoni. The rhino to the left is obscured by gray colouring, but it is interesting to note that there is no dorsal horn.
