Gus (originally from Uganda) was translocated to the Carr Hartley Game Farm in Kenya in 1947. In 1963 Gus was purchased by the Hannover Zoo and in September 1964 sent to the Southampton Zoo (UK) owned by Jim Chipperfield. In 1967 Gus was transferred to Lion Country Safari. Gus injured his keeper during a confrontation with another rhino in 1973. Zoo records are incomplete on any further status of this rhinoceros. Postcard of D & M Postcards and Records
