Miss Bet was purchased from the animal dealer Jamrach in 1850 and lived at the zoo until 1873. Images of Miss Bet were also available in popular stereoscope views.
Greater one-horned rhinoceros, female ‘Miss Bet’ or Betsy, exhibited in London Zoo 5 July 1850 to 14 December 1873.
