Johann Elias Ridinger made this print in 1748. It was part of a series of twelve biblical scenes. Note that Clara stands to the left and in the background is another study that Chodowiecki will later use in his ‘Elementarwerk’ (1770). This hand coloured version from the period is extremely rare.
