One-horned rhinoceros obtained in Nepal by Jürgen Johanssen for Hagenbeck from a private collection for 60,000 Mark. The date of arrival is uncertain, but this paper states that the animal has been in Germany for several month. This female ‘Nepali I’ lived until 15 June 1955.
