This drawing and the one on the backside were most likely drawn by the young Dr. James Parsons for his employer Dr.James Douglas in view of prints to illustrate a paper on the rhinoceros to be presented to the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, which Parsons eventually did in 1743.
