First page of the first major scientific paper by L.C. (Kees) Rookmaaker published in 1973 before his final exam at the Vossius Gymnasium, Amsterdam. It deals with some rhinos which have since become famous like the Ganda drawn by Durer, the Abada of Spain and Portugal and Clara the Dutch Rhinoceros. Published after encouragement by Florence Pieters, then librarian of the Artis Bibliotheek, in the Bijdragen tot de Dierkunde, now Contributions to Zoology
