Image No. 5 from Symbola et emblemata by Joachim Camerarius the Younger of Nurenberg (1534-1598) first published in 1590. It is interesting to note that he uses the ‘Madrid’ rhino as his example contrary to that of Dürer. This is from a posthumous edition of 1660 most likely published by his son Ludwig (1573-1651).
