It is interesting to think about the history of this rhinoceros in the postcard image. The author’s Indian rhinoceros calf postcard image was taken in the same location and possibly in same time period i.e. 1900-1910. However, facts about this animal are obscure. Also, internet sources suggest many of the animals at the Antwerp Zoo did not survive the devastation of World War I.
